Fall open burn season will begin on Friday, September 18, 2026. Following the Mesa County Sheriff's Office decision to lift local fire restrictions, Mesa County Public Health is removing the No Burn Advisory on the same date.

Work continues on the E ½ Road construction project near Long Family Memorial Park. This is part of the Orchard Avenue Safety and Connectivity Project, which will improve safety, drainage and connectivity along a key transportation corridor in Mesa County.

Major roadway improvements and safety upgrades are coming to 32 ½ Road in Clifton. At the Sept. 15 public hearing, commissioners approved a $4.6 million contract for construction of Phase II of the 32 ½ Road improvement project.

At the 2026 Warrant Forgiveness Day in August, 95 total warrants were addressed between the Justice Center and the Municipal Courthouse.
