Veteran services in Mesa County
The Mesa County Workforce Center is committed to serving Veterans and eligible family members with employment, training, and career services. Veterans receive priority of service in employment and training programs funded through the Workforce Center.
In addition to employment and training services, the Mesa County Workforce Center is home to a Veterans Service Officer (VSO) that helps Mesa County Veterans and qualified family members access and navigate VA benefits and services.
Veterans Service Officer (VSO)
The Veterans Service Office provides assistance to Mesa County Veterans and qualified family members with accessing VA benefits and services. Assistance may include benefits such as:
- Service-connected disability benefits
- VA pension benefits
- Survivor benefits
- Assistance obtaining a DD214
- Other VA benefits and services
Veterans Service Officer Anthony “Tony” Lee is available to assist Veterans and qualified family members with navigating the VA benefits process. Tony is an accredited Veterans Service Officer through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of General Counsel and holds accreditation through the Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs.
VSO services are available by appointment, with open walk-in hours every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and every Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Employment and Training Services
Veterans and eligible covered persons receive priority of service in federally funded employment and training programs at the Mesa County Workforce Center.
Workforce Center staff can assist Veterans with:
- Job search assistance
- Job referrals
- Career exploration and planning
- Résumé and interview assistance
- Training and education opportunities
- Skills development
- Referrals to other community resources and services
Veterans do not need to use the Veterans Service Office to receive employment and training assistance. All Veterans are encouraged to connect with Workforce Center staff to learn about available employment and training services and priority of service.
